"Let's Do the Time Warp Again"

When we first arrived in Cuenca, our apartment was continuously filled with workmen, installing this and that, making repairs, all the necessary things. Last week was a replay of our beginning weeks here. "...And it'll drive you insane, let's do the time warp again."

The shower in the master bathroom was beyond use with out carpeting the floor with multiple thicknesses of towels. Damage had been caused in the apartment below us. A repair was called out twice to no avail. The shower had only a partial wall which included a hinged door that opened over the toilet. We had not used it in weeks.

A new shower enclosure was ordered in October. The workmen came on Tuesday. They locked themselves in the bathroom and came out only for lunch and at 5 o'clock. I was aghast at the disaster. The disarray was beyond belief and they didn't finish.

They returned on Wednesday and completed the job. This is the new shower, completely enclosed, no leaks. It's wonderful; we can now use the shower without puddles of water in the floor.
The finished product.

Amidst all the work is Leidy. She arrives from school every afternoon at 1:30, has lunch, and stays until her mom finishes work.
Due to a gasket problem with the dishwasher, the GE technician also had to pay a visit. What's one more service call.
Gabby was another aspect of the time warp, in that more training had to be done. The one major thing that had been postponed was painting. Victor came on Tuesday morning and began plastering and painting. We knew there were some cracks; however, when he finished with a room, it looked like a display from the Museum of Modern Art.

The work went on for days and days and days. It was a time warp; reality would have been faster.

The work was finally finished yesterday. Today has been a matter of putting things back together. Hopefully, this is the last time warp for a while.

Until next time,
Mick and Kathy
