Parque Paraiso

Parque Paraiso is the largest park in Cuenca. It is home to a large soccer field and walking trails. It is bordered on two sides by rivers, the Yanuncay and the Tomebamba. We spent a large part of the morning walking around Parque Paraiso with Mike and Pat Grimm. The setting is very relaxing. Here are rocks that have been formed into planters.

There are many wildflowers. Here a vine is covering the remains of a tree, giving a tower effect.
With the Cajas in the distance, the lake is lovely. There are paddle boats to use on the lake.

This is a huge boulder in the Yanuncay.

This is where the two rivers meet.

Here are more of the flora.

We've noticed from our terrace that some of the eucalyptus trees seem to have blooms. We had a better look at a smaller tree that had blossoms.
This is lantana growing wild.

What a lovely visit to the park; even though it was Friday morning, there was still much activity. It is such a nice place to go for a relaxing walk. Nikolas was exhausted after the jaunt around the park.

In the evening, we had a lovely dinner at California Kitchen, followed by a drive up to Turi. From Turi, you have a panoramic view of the city's light display. It is a stunning vista! A night view of the city from Turi is well worth the short trip. This was another perfect day in Cuenca.

Until next time,
Mick and Kathy
