New Kids on the Block

Over a year ago I was contacted via the blog by someone in Baltimore. During the months, this lady, Jeannie and I have stayed in touch and this week, her months of planning came to fruition. Jean and Larry arrived in Cuenca on Tuesday. Mick and I picked them up at the airport and have shown them around a bit. Here are Mick, Larry, and Jeannie at the Coffee Tree.
We've introduced them to some of our friends and shown them some of our favorite restaurants. Having had lunch at the Kitchen, here's Jeannie having dinner at Mangiare's.

Although the usuals are still weaving these, there are some new kids on the block. Joannie was busy with yarn while Sue dropped by to chat with everyone.

It was tea time and Maruhita was taking a break.

One of the new kids is Brennie. Here she is working on her scarf.

The other new kid is Karen; she just finished her beautiful shawl as Patricia is giving final instructions.

It's always so nice to finally meet someone that you've only been e-mailing. It's also great to see your friends finally doing something that they've wanted to do but never had the time. That's one of the great things about retirement.

Until next time,

Mick and Kathy

  1. Hey Kathy, a late comment but... I agree and that photo of Karen really made me smile too! It's so joyful.
